Welcome to the second round of the ESO! We’re super excited that you’re joining us for our Gifting Round. This round, you’ll be filling prompts submitted by others to accumulate points.

The prompts for this round can be found in this delightful spreadsheet!

The round has ended, but these prompts are available to fill indefinitely. Please feel free to continue adding works to the #ESOround2 tag on Twitter, the ESO collection on AO3 or to link them in the replies of this tweet if you would like to make it easier for people to find them.

To participate in this round, you can choose to submit fanwork to fill as many prompts as you want, and your team will be awarded points based on the number of prompts you have filled.

It's good practice to claim a prompt when you start working on it, to let other people know that someone else is making something for it already. You are free to claim any prompts other than your own, even if they are not for the ship you signed up for. Try to finish one prompt fill before claiming another. The form for claims can be found here.

We'd encourage you to pick prompts that nobody else has claimed yet, so that as many people as possible can receive something this round, but it's okay if you want to do one that's already been claimed too.

Submissions open: 21 July
Deadline: 28 July

  • Each team must submit their entries to the esomain Dreamwidth community in the form of ONE post that collects everyone's creations. The submission format must be followed (see below). It is the team captain’s responsibility to make this post or ensure someone else makes it. To collaborate on it easily, we suggest using Google Drive.
  • Any team not following the rules or the submission format will be disqualified from the round until they fix the issue.

Content Guidelines

    Types of work:
  • Any kind of creative fanwork is allowed—art, fanfiction, meta, fangames, videos, cosplay, cooking, music, edits... as long as it wasn't published anywhere before the round started.
  • What counts as one fill: For example, one image or one fanfiction. Comics and other sequential art forms (even just two illustrations that read sequentially) are permitted, as are illustrated prose and other projects that combine different mediums. If two people create separate works for the same prompt, we'll count this as two fills even if they are connected (e.g. if one person writes something and the other illustrates it). Please contact the mods if you are unsure about an idea.

  • Submission contents:
  • R18 fanworks are not allowed.
  • Please try to follow each prompt to the best of your ability and respect the prompter's wishes with regards to what they would like to see included. You can't combine prompts, but you may create two separate fills that are connected somehow.
  • Extra text within the post is encouraged, e.g. to caption artwork and credit the creator.

  • Crossposting:
  • You are encouraged to cross-post works to your preferred social media and/or AO3 once the round has started, and provide a link underneath your entry so people can give your work some extra attention if they like it.

Submission format

Title: Round 2 - Team A/B (first names of your ship in alphabetical order, with a slash in between, e.g. Hokuto/Subaru)

At the start of the post:

  • Content warnings
  • Anything you want to tell people before they view, e.g. a teaser or summary (text only)

Then a cut must be inserted before your entries: click the “Cut” button at the top of the editor or use the html <cut> and </cut> around the remaining content of the post.

The team's entries should be included here. Please write the ID number of the prompt used underneath each work. Fanfics and other page-stretching things should be hosted on another website (e.g. AO3) and then linked to. There is an ESO collection on AO3, and you can post on Twitter under the #ESOround2 hashtag as soon as the round opens.

At the end of the post: State the number of fills in your entry (this will be used for scoring purposes), and list participating team members by their twitter @

Tag with: Entry, Round 2, Team A/B (names in alphabetical order, with a slash in between, e.g. Hokuto/Subaru)

Scoring

Points for the round will be allocated as follows:

  • For your team's first three submissions: 160 points each
  • For each further submission from the 4th up to the 12th submission: 120 points each
  • This means the maximum number of points your team can gain this round is 1560.
  • Please feel free to submit less or more than 12 things total, don't limit yourself or push yourself too hard just because of the points system!

That's all for this round, have fun making other people’s dreams come true!
