The Enstars Shipping Olympics
The ESO is an Enstars fandom event intended to promote creativity, shipping fun and collaboration. You'll be able to compete as part of a team to create fanworks and show love for a pairing of your choice, and earn points in different ways while supporting other competitors.

Of course, this isn't a competition to see which ship is the best or has the most dedicated fans - the points system is just for added excitement. The main goal is to push yourself creatively, share your work and have fun!

Announcements will be made through the ESO twitter and you will need a Twitter account in order to play.


Teams

You will need to be a member of a team in order to participate in the ESO. Each team will represent a single ship, and have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 members with one member serving as captain. The main point of forming teams is to cheer each other on and inspire each other to produce cool stuff for your chosen ship during the event!

There are two exceptions:

• Team Rarepair, which can submit entries for any ships which don't already have their own teams
• Team Gen, which can submit entries of any platonic content, though it should still feature interactions between 2+ characters

Spots on a team are first come, first served. You may change your team at any time before the event starts by editing your initial registration, or by filling out the form again. Once the sign-up period ends, you will have a 3-day window to make any last-minute team switches if you have already signed up.


Rounds

There are three rounds to the ESO, one main rounds and two bonus rounds, each lasting about a week with time in between for voting and score tallying. Each round will have unique rules, but this is how they will all work:

1. Prompts will be released a week before the submission period opens to help inspire your creations—feel free to get a head start
2. You will have one week to have fun producing fanworks
3. The team captain will submit everyone's fanworks as a single team entry to the ESO Dreamwidth community (esomain)
4. The round will end and (in the main round only) you will be able to vote on which other team's entries you liked best
5. Points will be awarded based on who got the most votes (main round) or who produced the most content (bonus rounds)

Submission Guidelines

You can submit anything at all—art, fanfiction, meta, fangames, videos, cosplay, cooking, music, edits… as long as it wasn’t published before the event started. This event is intended to encourage all forms of creativity! Similarly, collabs between members of the same team can be any combination of those things. You could work on art or writing together, create an illustrated fanfic, draw a comic to someone else's script, make an animated music video or anything else.

Fanfiction should be a minimum of 200 words, while fanart should be more than a sketch. Of course, you should use your best judgment as far as what you believe constitutes a finished piece in any category; we won't be sticklers.

Feel free to cross-post your work to social media or other accounts during the event. There is an ESO collection on AO3 if you would like to add your works to it.

We want to allow as many people as possible to participate, so R18 fanworks will not be allowed.


Voting

After each round closes, mod checks will take place in the next 48 hours, and you will have another 48 hours to make any changes necessary to be eligible for voting (or to receive points). For the main round, voting will then be open for 3 days. You must be a participant to vote.
